8 Questions with Mark Molnar:
1. How do you reset to be creative? What motivates you?
Traveling abroad as much as possible and getting out of the city inspires me to stay creative. As for what motivates me, it's probably life and just some innate sense to create.
2. What is the biggest challenge you face?
One of the biggest challenges of operating a website is trying to share content that is unique, interesting and relevant for our readers.
3. How do you stay on top of the cutting edge?
I don't put too much emphasis on trying to stay on top of the cutting edge. I'm not sure I have ever had an interest in doing so. I think that keeping up to date with what's going on is important in my industry and that being in the know comes with the territory. Often, I'm informed about content a little sooner than others, but that's probably because I'm on the internet so much. So I guess there's your answer: the internet.
4. What is your favorite way to interact with viewers of your site?
I enjoy monthly meet-ups at a local bar where editors, contributors and fans play music and chop it up. There's nothing better than knowing your audience and making a genuine effort to connect with them on a personal level.
5. Are there any adjacent industries outside your own that you actively source for inspiration?
Wine making is one of my favorite past-times. Cultivating grapes and producing wine is something that gets my proverbial juices flowing and that really illustrates how hard work ultimately leads to reward.
6. Where do you see the future of blogs heading?
That's a question I get asked quite often, and my answer is always the same: Your guess is as good as mine. It's difficult to predict the future of online media but I'm open to what it may bring.
7. What is the mission of your blog?
MASHKULTURE's mission is to curate unique and carefully selected content for the lifestyle-oriented individual.
8. What makes your blog different? How can viewers leverage the content on your blog?
I try not to post as often as I used to. I think many platforms mistake quantity for quality and tend to over-saturate their website and social feeds with content that's already out there. When I started out, I felt the need to post an abundance of articles per day but after some time, I realized that more is not always better. If I'm not inspired by content, I won't share it and really try to focus on features that our readers will appreciate. I want MASHKULTURE's message to reflect our audience's interests and try to reflect on this idea before every post.
