Martin Klimas captures photographs that look like freeze-frame images of martial art senseis duking it out.
Klimas achieves the exploding effect by dropping the figures from a few feet high and snapping a photo right as they hit the ground. This gives the images a massive amount of energy -- almost as if the martial artists have so much power that they can’t even control it. As the plastic flies and the heads pop off of the figures, one can feel the explosive boom that is encompassed in the photos. Martin Kilmas portrays the figurines in a variety of positions; from the group shots to the stoic individual poses, these photographs are packed with plenty of action.
