Andrew Robertson — June 7, 2012 — Art & Design
It's hard to believe that something so dangerous can be so beautiful, Mark Laita's Serpentine series captures the magnificent elegance of some of the world's deadliest snakes.
The Los Angeles-based photographer traveled all over the world in order to get an up close and personal encounter with a variety of the slithering reptiles. From the Honduran Milk Snake to the Black Pakistan Cobra, these photographs are more of an artistic statement than a zoological documentation. Every snake within the series is a unique entity, both in terms of color pattern, size and the shape in which it is photographed in.
Looking through Mark Laita's Serpentine series is gorgeous to behold. It is a privilege to able to look at such magnificent and rare creatures from a safe distance.
