These clever magnetic earbuds solve a common problem to which there has been no simple solution thus far. The fact of the matter is that if our buds had no cords, we'd lose them; however, music listeners are left with the daily frustration of knotted wires.
Tien-sheng Huang has come up with an intelligent solution that appears not to have altered the size or shape of these portable headphones in any significant way. Embedded within the teeny speakers are magnets that keep each component attracted to the others. To reinforce the union of the earbuds with the audio jack connector, the designer leveled the outside surfaces of the parts with three flat faces each. The components will snap together easily, making it harder for them to wind around the wires and become tangled between uses.
