'The NIA' is a Delaware-based startup that recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for its 'Magnecraft' building blocks. These are magnetic building blocks made out of durable EVA foam. The company noted that traditional building blocks made out of plastic or a composite material are often hard and can hurt, or even bruise, kids that play with them wrong. Additionally, these blocks are easy to knock over and often fall down, which takes away from the fun of playing with building blocks.
The company aims to solve both of these issues by using EVA foam with magnetic polarity inside of the blocks. This ensures that the blocks stick together firmly, but are still easy to separate, and the blocks will not hurt children who play with them.
The Magnecraft set is currently available for $88 USD as a super early bird discount on Kickstarter.
