The LUX D102 Shower Showed of LiDAR Technology at CES 2021
Michael Hemsworth — January 15, 2021 — Tech
The LUX D102 was shown off by LUX Lab Inc. at CES 2021 as a different kind of fixture for the bathroom that would integrate advanced technology into the daily showering experience of the user. The shower makes use of LiDAR motion detection technology in order to make changes to the functionality in a truly streamlined way. The user can make changes to the temperature or even the water pressure with a series of simple hand gestures, which are interpreted by the JAVA-based micro-controller system inside.
The LUX D102 shower system is capable of detecting 25 different motions that could cause an error in order to deliver an impressive experience for the user. The system will also relay information to the user's smartphone pertaining to shower usage data. The product is positioned as being great for those who have physical disabilities and the elderly, and has been named an Innovation Award Honoree at CES 2021.
