Apple has created smart bike helmets, which have been titled 'Lumos Matrix.' Apple released the helmets on its website, and they are available in either black or white for a $249 price point.
The Lumos Matrix helmet has an LED panel on the back that is a 7x11 matrix of dots. The LED lights are able to act as a turn signal and brake lights to inform drivers what a cyclist is doing. The new display builds on the previous Lumo's designs, and the new models have more capabilities and a more streamlined design.
A touchpad attaches to the user's bike, the touchpad is able to detect hand signals and show the appropriate signal on the back of the helmet. Users can also adjust the brightness and how frequently the lights flash through a mobile app.
