This smart luggage lock allows users to keep track of their baggage while travelling, without necessitating a costly new piece of luggage itself. The 'AirBolt' is an app-connected lock that be wirelessly locked and unlocked with the use of a smartphone.
When the baggage the lock is attached to leaves a certain proximity zone, the app sends alerts to the owner's smartphone, preventing them from forgetting it or getting it taken from under their nose. The designers even came up with a back-up plan in case a phone is lost or stolen while travelling. In this case, the owner can access the companion app from another compatible phone or else there is a back-up button combination that can be pre-programmed in the lock.
