British artist Lucy Sparrow transforms an abandoned corner store with a unique installation that features 4000 hand-stitched felt products.
Lucy re-stocks the shelves of the old supermarket space with plush packages of products like Spam canned meats, Doritos of different flavors and even gum packets that have been handcrafted by the artist.
Located in Bethnal Green, east London, this temporary art exhibition is titled 'The Corner Shop'. The incredible display highlights countless hand-sewn products that vary from chips and candy to magazines and frozen dinners.
This fabric-rendered process took Lucy Sparrow close to seven months to complete and began with a Kickstarter campaign. "Every single product used in the art installation is available for purchase through The Cornershop website, but will remain in The Cornershop through August, during which time Sparrow will host a number of sewing workshops meant to bring the community together."
