Estúdio Parrado designed the Loop Mirror with three complementary materials merged together to construct a balanced piece. The Loop Mirror is crafted from concrete, a mirror and a metal loop. The result of combining the three pieces is a delicate and refined mirror designed to be mounted on a wall. The design studio aimed to decrease waste when creating the piece and turned its attention towards digital technologies -- specifically CNC technology.
The concrete serves as the Loop Mirror's base and is crafted from a medium-density fibreboard model in order to create a polyurethane mold. The mold is comprised of a notch to hold the mirror glass in place, plus a pin and a wall bracket as well. The steep strip forms the looped frame with two punctures to wrap around the concrete pins. The Loop Mirror is crafted in color options of either black or white.
