In this week's New York Times Style Magazine, they featured a short blurb about Ron Arad's Crystal chandelier. The chandelier is a crystal spiral with LED lights embedded within the crystals. The LED lights are programmed to allow the owner to scroll messages across the chandelier. It's absolutely gorgious, so I wanted know a bit more. I manage to find a couple of things that were really useful in understanding the evolution of this design. Check out Waldemeyer.com for some great pictures of the construction of this light. I'm affraid I don't know much about Moritz Waldemeyer except that he is a genius at creating LED sculptures. He also as a blog that he started recently which shows what he's up to. He also mentions in his blog that he will be exhibiting at the Rabih Hage Gallery in London, so give them a ring if you want to see a clouple of his works in person.
