Lime is Looking to Increase Usage by Removing Barriers
Riley von Niessen — March 25, 2021 — Autos
Lime scooters have become a popular mode of transport for both locals and tourists in many cities around the world, however the need to download the company's app and the cost to place a scooter on reserve have prevented some from giving them a try in the first place.
In response to this, Lime announced that it would be launching an app-free experience and allowing for free scooter reservations. In place of its app, Lime has included QR codes on its e-scooters, which prompts users to confirm their ride and pay with either Google Pay or Apple Pay. The reservation feature is extended to both Lime's scooters and bikes, and also makes the booking process more convenient.
