These whimsical lace-like metal sculptures of human beings look as though they were delicately cut from a thin piece of lace. London-based Israeli artist Zadok Ben David created these amazing sculptures to mimic the forest, the trees and other aspects of nature that he comes into contact with.
Each lace-like metal sculpture has the silhouette of a human figure, yet the interior of each body is filled with branches, leaves and butterflies. This unique collection of human-like statues subtly hints towards human invasion upon nature.
Each sculpture is carefully created using a laser cutter to slice each piece of metal. The process allows the artist to combine the various layers to create 2D and 3D shapes, depending on where the viewer is standing.
