In this case LG stands for Luxury Gold, instead of the company's motto Life's Good. This 24 carat monster 71 inch LCD has 1080p hi def as well as receivers, media players and a 500 watt sound system all trimmed and plated in gold.
The price of the system wasn't disclosed, so we can't do any comparison shopping against the Yalos or other luxury TVs. Prospective buyers should be aware, however, that lighting in their media rooms will be particularly important; the glare from the reflections could be blinding.
The company designs such products to create a buzz for their design work. "Since 1991, LG's global design network has been developing gradually to meet the needs of its customers worldwide. Around 540 employees from 12 nations work tirelessly to fulfil LG's global design strategy. The network includes all the designers in the four departments of the company's design center in Korea, as well as those working in the five associated international offices."
What would you watch on a gold television? How about some Pure Gold from Abba?
