Kristin Birna Bjarnadottir, an Icelandic designer, has created a levitating lamp called the ‘Illuminant Lamp.’ Although the lamp creates an illusion that it is floating in air, it is actually hung from the ceiling by fishing lines.
These levitating lamps may have been inspired by strange sea creatures, as they look exactly like octopuses. The lampshade is made from highly reflective material and an LED light is placed on the floor directly below the lamp that illuminates the levitating lamp.
What a great, modern innovation!
