Designer Clara Schweers created an interconnected two-seater steel chair called 'Saitens' for university and her inspiration for the furniture came from Leonardo da Vinci sketches. The most obvious inspiration from the famed Italian artist's work may be the strings that branch out through the chair like rays of sun. It's not a normal two-seater chair either -- the chair has a monochromatic minimalist appeal to it, similar to straw lawn chairs; it looks like two opposing seats sitting side-by-side.
The 'Saitens' is rather intimate in its positioning, likely something enjoyed by two close friends or family members. The piece would be better worked into homes as a design element and perhaps not so much as an actual piece of usable furniture.
