Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week transforms the German city into a whirling sea of fashion and design, filling the days with sartorial shows to flaunt elaborate new collections and the evenings with entertainment to amuse the global audience of guests who come to check out upcoming clothing, shoes and accessories.
The gallery shows some of the highlights from German design house, Joop! The collection included outrageous pieces like single-legged latex leggings in a grape bubble gum colour and flamingo pink pods were worn on the models heads, which looked like tiny toadstool stems beneath the giant shiny head wear. Other looks were more subtle, like micro-mini kimonos worn with tiny coils of hair piled on the tops of heads. Also influenced by Japanese fashion was the martial arts style robes and the shiny silver obi belt worn by one male model.
This July's Berlin Fashion Week, on now at Bebelplatz, is already showing designs for Autumn/Winter 2008/09.
