This DIY Life IKEA modification will help you turn an ordinary lamp purchased from IKEA into an attractive lighting centerpiece by pasting old film negatives on its outermost face.
The Grönö lamp can be purchased for less than $10 from virtually any IKEA, but that doesn't mean it isn't ripe for redesign. Using scissors, Mod Podge, a foam brush and some old transparencies, popular DIY website DIY Life gives viewers detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to create their own custom-style lamps. Although the process is pretty self-explanatory (cut sizable film strips, apply Mod Podge to lamp, past film strips to exterior, re-apply Mod Podge), that doesn't make the DIY Life IKEA modification lamp any less cool.
The DIY Life IKEA lamp is the perfect way to encapsulate all of those old family memories; but it's probably a good idea to make duplicate negatives before you decide to cut them up.
