Of course, you cannot help but feel bad for a poor pet that's been through the discomfort of surgery; however, the presence of that darned cone is somehow distastefully entertaining. The Laika Lamp playfully recreates this awkward image of your postoperative pussycat or doggy.
Lagranja Design developed this lighthearted product, manufacturing it in a limited edition of 50 pieces to give out as gifts to friends and clients. It consists of a white-finished wireframe body, a cord and a rolled plastic lampshade.
The metal has been worked to suggest the general volume of a small animal with a long tail, while the head remains undefined. It is simply replaced by this flaring translucent form, inspired by the accessory that prevents your pet from licking its stitches. The Laika Lamp is perfectly complete with its red electrical cable tied around it like a leash.
