Kia's CEO Confirmed the Upcoming Launch of the Kia EV9 GT Performance SUV
Colin Smith — April 3, 2023 — Autos
Kia’s CEO has confirmed that there will be a high-performance version of the Kia EV9 coming out at the end of next year. The new 'Kia EV9 GT' is a full-size, range-topping, seven-seat electric SUV expected to offer an all-electric range of over 330 miles and ultra-rapid charging to add 150 miles of range in 15 minutes.
The Kia EV9 GT is inspired by the previous EV6 GT released by the automaker. The EV6 GT boasted nearly 600 horsepower, topping out at 576 HP, which could suggest that the EV9 will be closer to, or even surpass, 600 horsepower in a consumer-focused full-size electric SUV.
Kia has yet to confirm the exact design, details, or specifications for the EV9 GT, though this reveal is expected to happen in the next few months accompanying the launch of preorders for the vehicle.
