Designer Kazoo Sato from Disruption Lab Team completed their latest toilet design installed in Hatagaya, Tokyo.
Taking part in the ongoing Tokyo Toilet Project, Kazoo Sato's design is the 12th toilet to join the series. Dubbed the 'Hi Toilet', this design aims to make the restroom visit as contactless and hygienic as possible. After much research, the designer realized just how much users avoid hand contact with surfaces while in public washrooms. After this realization, the designer created a voice-activated toilet. Completed with voice recognition technology, users can give verbal instructions that will automatically open doors, flush toilets, and turn on taps.
This design has arrived in a rather timely fashion, as public toilets are often avoided during the COVID-19 pandemic.
