Part of this year’s Wallpaper* Handmade exhibition, KAGE Trolley Suitcase symbolizes the balance between luxury and function. It was inspired by the vintage luggage used throughout the 19th century. Nevertheless, the chest and brass combination has been re-envisioned for the 21st century. Made out of Italian cowhide, lined with soft pacific blue lamb nappa leather and finished with glossy brass detailing, it is absolutely deceiving in its simplicity.
Designed by husband-wife team Esther Schulze-Tsatsas and Dimitrios Tsatsas, the KAGE Trolley Suitcase is pronouced 'Kah-geh' to represent the pronunciation of the Japanese for ‘shadow.’ One of its key features is the handle, which has been designed to fold up to allow the bag to be towed or folded down on top to carry by hand.
