Folk music legend Joni Mitchell joins the long list of musicians who have been apart of the Saint Laurent Music Project. Other artists who have been involved include B.B. King, Chuck Berry and Jerry Lee Lewis, all of whom appeared in the first installment of 'Architects of Rock and Blues.'
Canadian singer-songwriter Mitchell is a fabulous choice to continue the series. Her style of music incorporated jazz, rock and rhythm and blues influences, resulting in massive hits such as "Big Yellow Taxi." Her 1971 album 'Blue' was one of the most culturally important albums of the decade, and all time (a fact supported by its inclusion on Rolling Stone's '500 Greatest Albums of All Time' list). For the shoot, Hedi Slimane personally shot Mitchell in the comfort of her own Bel Air home.
The ongoing series is an attempt at merging different forms of art (music, fashion, photography) in an engaging way, as well as celebrating renowned artists for their contributions.
