A new retail space for luxury fashion brand Jonathan Simkhai just opened in New York City. The shop is located on Mercer Street in SoHo, to be exact, which is considered to be "a prime shopping area in Lower Manhattan."
Jonathan Simkhai tapped design agency Aruliden to head the aesthetic development of its retail location. The firm worked long and hard to incorporate its client's business ethos and legacy into the physical retail location. In order to create something unique for consumers to experience, Aruliden used cut-out shapes from the womenswear brand as a starting point and translated these into "architectural partitions and furniture." As a result, the Jonathan Simkhai retail space is divided into sculptural partitions that are covered in a soft, translucent fabric, for example.
