Many designers seem to be very fascinated with jellyfish, as there has been countless creations modeled after them and the Jellyfish Lamp is simply the latest. Because these underwater creatures are quite beautifully alienesque, I can see exactly what all the fuss is about.
Created by Argentinian art director Paula Benvegnu and UK designer Tristan Cochrane -- both of whom are currently based in Barcelona -- the Jellyfish Lamp is just as ethereal and exotic as the sea creatures themselves. Made out of 300 to 400 meters of ribbon, the Jellyfish Lamp are available in a range of different sizes and colors.
Although the Jellyfish Lamp is a rather abstract take on this creature, draping effect of the ribbons is divine.
