It has been proven that sitting in a seated position for an extended period of time can be hazardous to one's health, which is where Jagoda Szymkowiak's Master Project comes in handy. Created to encourage physical activity in spaces and places that do not provide such options, it is essentially a stationary springboard.
Inspired by the waiting times experienced in international airports, Jagoda Szymkowiak decided to tackle the problem of constant sitting in anticipation of boarding time. These springboards would be placed in areas of the airport (or even in workspaces and shopping centers) to ensure that people counter the negative effect on the human cardiovascular system that occurs when sitting too long.
Jagoda Szymkowiak's springboard has four movements: front-back balance, right-left balance, balance during circular movement and balance during 'surfing' movement.
