LG Display develops the new Thin Actuator Sound Solution, which is essentially an invisible speaker technology that is made for vehicles. It uses a passport-sized panel that vibrates and generates sound, which is notably developed by an unnamed global audio company.
It is set to launch next year as it begins to integrate into car interiors during installation on the headliner and dashboards. It uses the company's film-type exciter technology in order to create sound by vibrating off of the display panels and other materials that are integrated into the vehicles. It also claims to have a “rich, 3D immersive sound experience." The panel measures about 2.5mm in thickness and is 150mm by 90mm in total.
