The Fifth Wall iPad Application is Rhythmic and Hypnotic
Alexandra Serrano — July 3, 2012 — Art & Design
The evolution of dance as an art form has transcended into the tablet medium with 2Wice Media‘s interactive iPad dance application Fifth Wall. Fifth Wall is the creation of Abott Miller and Patsy Tarr of arts publication 2Wice Media along with the talented choreographer Jonah Bokaer, who appears in the sequences.
iTunes describes the creation as an app designed for the iPad that considers the digital tablet as a new performance space. It explores the unique spatial, visual and temporal conditions of the tablet and its possibilities for choreography.
The application allows users to participate in the art form by creating an “interactive dance space” using iPad’s ability to manipulate the performance with the ability to move, sort and re-frame.
The ability to virtually affect the on-screen dancer’s movements and organize sequences is only the beginning of choreography without physical limits.
