Music brand Blackbird recently created this unconventional guitar instrument design made entirely out of flax linen fabric. The guitar looks like it is made from conventional wood but at closer inspection users discover that it's actually made from ekoa bio-resin.
Traditionally guitars are carved out of slaps of wood that give the instrument its acoustic sound and shape. The El Capitan guitar takes another approach by abandoning wood materials all together and creating a guitar from ekoa -- a fibre made out of bio-resin and linen. The material is incredibly durable and makes this guitar super lightweight for carrying and travel. According to the makers, ekoa is actually easier to work with when constructing a guitar than any other material. Despite the El Capitan not containing any wood in its design, the guitar's sound quality goes without compromised.
