When it comes to loose change, the sizes and metals used in each international piece often do not communicate the proper hierarchy of their monetary values. These Infographic Coins have been designed to be better understood intuitively, both for kids and for foreigners.
This collection of gold and copper cash is Mac Funamizu's updated concept, and one of the Best of the Best in the 2013 Red Dot Design Awards. The two materials signify greater and lesser worth respectively, and each circular piece has a further distinction based on the pie chart excision in its face. Quarter, half and full dollars and cents are represented by the remaining wedges of the Infographic Coins. These can now be illustratively deciphered and they offer the eco benefit of reduced material used.
