BMW held a test for its iNext prototype to see how the EV would be able o perform in hot weather conditions. The automotive company released some images of the car being tested in the Kalahari Desert, which is located in South Africa. Specifically, the test is concerned with how the body of the car handles adverse conditions. Previously BMW ran a similar test for the iNext prototype in Sweden, to asses how the vehicle handles cold weather.
The iNext prototype is particularly important to BMW, as it allows the company to experiment with EVs. BMW is hoping to have one million EVs in the hands of consumers before the end of 2021, which means the company will need experience stress testing EVs ahead of this.
