During a recent press event Sennheiser, a consumer audio electronics brand, debuted its IE 600 IEMs (In-ear monitors), marking the brand's entry into the premium audiophile market.
The new IEMS are made from 3D-printed amorphous zirconium, a unique material with a glass-like atomic structure that delivers a distinct worn-out metallic appearance. However, the brand has utilized this metal for more than just its stylistic properties; it's the same material that NASA uses for its Mars rovers because it provides “triple the hardness and bend resistance of high-performance steel." As a result, the material works to protect the IE 600's delicate hardware from any potential damage.
In addition, during the event, the company teased two new exciting products: the Momentum True Wireless 3 earbuds and the Ambeo Dolby Atmos soundbar.
