The Huggies Extra Care wipes presently uses up to 50% less plastic in its wipes when compared to other brands on the market, but the brand is seeking to completely eliminate it in the coming years. The brand has announced that it will take aggressive action to eliminate plastic from the baby wipe product range over the course of the next five years in the UK. This will save an estimated 60 tonnes of plastic from ending up in the landfill each year when taking the entire range into account.
Vice President and Managing Director of Kimberly-Clark UK Ori Ben Shai spoke on the new Huggies Extra Care wipes initiative saying, "We know that parents are becoming more environmentally conscious, but we also know that they need an affordable and convenient solution that is gentle on their baby’s skin. We’ve already made headway and are proud to offer an alternative which has a lower environmental impact than other leading brands, but we won’t stop until we have found a fully sustainable solution as we believe no parent should have to compromise between caring for their baby and caring for the environment.”
