The Box Table
66degrees — October 12, 2008 — Art & Design
Here's a stunning table made from a wood only found in Southeast Australia. The Box Table by Martin Davis is a truly one-of-a-kind piece. It is made from hand-selected Jarrah wood, with finger joints made of Victorian ash. The complementary colors of the wood provide a striking contrast to each other; each wood highlights the others' beauty.
Implications - The Jarrah wood is extremely hard, so you wouldn't have to worry about it breaking easily. Both the wood and the finger joints were reclaimed from old objects to create this fantastic table. The table looks as if it were "stitched" together, adding a unique and tasteful design. The table would look great in any area of the home.
