HOT TEA is an artist and designer duo from Minneapolis, MN, who recently visited New York, leaving its yarn creations strewn along the way. The duo creates 3D art designs on chain fences in various parks and railings, spelling out HOT TEA. The designs are immediately recognizable by their thick block letters and the neon-yellow yarn used. This project is a different type of graffiti that is not as intrusive as spray paint.
Inspiration for this HOT TEA project comes from relationship between the words “hot” and “tea.” Depending on whether pronounced quickly as one word or distinctly as two, these words can mean different things.
