The Wenes Home and Gallery is a Harmonious Blend of Art and Design
Vasiliki Marapas — May 17, 2014 — Art & Design
The Wenes home and gallery in Antwerp exhibits a harmonious blend of art, design and functionality. Architect Bart Lens assisted home owners Veerle Wenes and Bob Christiaenes in consolidating a 19th century building with a 1970s one, ultimately creating a beautiful residential space and conjoining public gallery.
The home is decorated with items such as decorative knives, sculptural furniture and a textile storage system. Next to the couples' living quarters, the multi-level gallery space features the work of designers they represent as though they were simple, everyday objects.
Every room, including the bathroom, is an immaculately decorated space. In fact, it's hard to really tell where the home ends and the gallery begins, especially considering the couples' flawless design aesthetic.
