Footwear brand Birkenstock launches the Highwood installation, which is a multisensory experience at London creative residency space Birkenstock Studio. Visitors can connect with the artform and they are encouraged to reconnect with nature. Spatial designer David Curtis-Rung works with sound artist Justin Wiggan and Berlin-based company H.A.N.D.HIFI to create Highwood.
It features a range of sculptural artwork, plants, and a soundscape experience that creates a calming ambiance. The creatives all have a background that explores nature through their respective practices. Additionally, the exhibition simultaneously opens with the launch of the brand's Highwood FW24 collection comprised of closed boots and shoes. The installation aims to bring attention to the discrete benefits of the capsule be bridging footwear design to the connection with nature.
