The Herit Chair is Simon Legald's latest work, designed specifically for Normann Copenhagen. The concept that Legald had in mind when crafting the furniture piece, was to blend together modern Danish design with mid-century heritage ideas. The name of the chair is short for the word 'heritage' and it is constructed from solid oak and plastic. The frame is crafted from the solid oak wood material, whereas the backrest is enveloping plastic constructed, and finished with either a upholstered or sculpted plastic seating.
The curvaceous back form taps to the idea of the sweeping shape of Danish armchairs from the mid-century era. It flows with the sculpture of the body, while the plastic constructed backrest and seating are more contemporary and hard-wearing.
