Designer Ryan Taylor recently designed the unique Hemisphere Pendant Planter for Object/Interface. This isn't the design studio's first step into crafting plantable light fixtures, as it introduced the Babylon Light two years ago. This time, Taylor takes that concept but delivers a new light piece in a new design and smaller structure.
The Hemisphere Pendant Planter has a dome sitting at six inches in diameter that holds the plant on top of the light so it grows out naturally in a cascading form down the sides of the light. Another option is a larger dome that has an opal glass diffused finish to emit a softer illumination. This option would hand from a brass colored stem, with a segregated brass element between the hemispheres. The Hemisphere Pendant Planter is currently available for pre-order on Object/Interface's website and will begin to ship in April this year.
