Child Hearing Check Apps

Sound Scouts is a new app, developed by cmee4 Productions in collaboration with National Acoustic Laboratories in Australia, that is designed to make it easier to conduct hearing checks in children. The app helps recognize hearing loss in children at a young age, so that measures can then be taken to mitigate the damage as they get older or even reverse it.

This hearing check app takes the form of a game that follows the story of a dog named Patch who works in a national park. One day, one of the rangers goes missing and Patch has to help find her by using his ears to solve auditory challenges. This sort of gameplay requires children to use their hearing, therefore helping recognize any deficiencies.

Hearing loss is a condition whose impact can be reduced if detected early. The Sound Scouts game makes this possible in the form of a game, ensuring children have fun while having their hearing analyzed.
