Wisconsin-based artist and painter Andrea Guzzetta is working on a collection of intricately hand-painted silk scarves that are exceptionally beautiful and fashionable but are meant to last for a very long time. Guzzetta is looking to print her watercolor paintings onto 100% silk scarves measuring 36 inches by 36 inches.
The designs on these hand-painted silk scarves won’t comprise of random abstract shapes, rather intricate symbols and scenes that represent the artist’s dreams and her beliefs about life and death. For example, one design called ‘Blood Nectar’ features a unicorn skull. This design addresses the notion that as people gain wisdom, they lose innocence. This design is a reminder that the innocence, like the unicorn, is immortal as it is reborn in children all over the world.
Guzzetta is currently raising funds for her project through the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.
