Many of these Hand Machine Candlesticks look like they might have come from the guts of large factory contraptions, yet they themselves comprise no moving parts and perform no mechanical functions. The OKHA Interiors collection were made in South Africa by a group of skilled artisans using hand-crafted techniques.
Warm woods have been used in the carving of some of these contemporary ribbed candle holders. A brassy metal was forged to produce a number of the others, delivering a very industrial effect with the hard shine and the screw-like threaded centers. Despite the two sets of Hand Machine Candlesticks being made to the same designs, both take on very different aesthetics with their dissimilar materials that would have them suiting disparate interior environments.
