BP has made an unprecedented move by renovating the gas station at the corner of Olympic and Robertson in Los Angeles. This trend is toward a more environmentally conscience gas-pumping facility. The place is made of recycled and non-toxic materials, collects rainwater to nourish on-site vegetation, and uses solar panels to power some of the electronic devices. At the very least, it just looks more appealing. I think this is the first of many redesigned filling stations.
Trend Themes
1. Eco-friendly Gas Stations - Renovating gas stations to be more environmentally friendly using renewable technologies and materials.
2. Sustainable Architecture - Reusing/recycling materials while incorporating green technologies to reduce environmental impact.
3. Green Energy Usage - Incorporating solar or other renewable energies to power devices and operations at gas stations.
Industry Implications
1. Oil and Gas - The oil and gas industry can explore renewable energy sources to power operations and materials for gas stations.
2. Architecture and Design - Companies can redesign gas stations to be more environmentally friendly and energy-efficient, while still looking aesthetically pleasing.
3. Technology and Energy - Tech companies can innovate renewable technology solutions to power gas stations and their operations using green energy sources.
