The Golran Decolorized Carpet Line Makes the Old New Again
Meghan Young — February 25, 2014 — Art & Design
The Golran Decolorized Carpet collection takes the old and makes it new without tarnishing the feel and look of history behind each original and one-of-a-kind design. Vintage rugs were decolorized, hence the name of the line, re-dyed with monochromatic vegetal dyes and then accentuated with tufts of colorful thread in order to add a bit of contemporary personality.
According to the designers, "Each type of yarn and weave has a different reaction to the decoloration and dyeing process, thus yielding changeable hues and effects in an extensive choice of nuances, ranging from bold bright shades to natural tones and pastels." Hence, the Golran Decolorized Carpet collection is somewhat spontaneously created, which makes each piece even more unique.
