The G+D Smart Label Turns Packages into IoT-Enabled Units
Michael Hemsworth — January 10, 2025 — Business
The G+D Smart Label has been introduced by Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) as an intelligent, connected tracking solution that will enable any package to be transformed into an Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled device. The label was developed in partnership with Sensos and features an ultra-thin profile that's reported to be just larger than a credit card, and will provide accurate and cost-effective tracking. The label is well-suited to a wide range of industries including parcel delivery, fleet management, shipping, luxury goods monitoring and more.
Head of Portfolio Strategy for IoT Solutions at G+D Sharath Muddaiah spoke on the G+D Smart Label saying, "Following the launch of our award-winning first-generation Smart Label solution in 2023, we have been working on the development of an even more compact and highly accurate solution. The G+D Smart Label provides a single end-to-end solution, including dedicated service support and warranty from one source. Our industry has seen many a solution which, once sold, has limited support, and we are here to set a new trend.”
