The newest timepiece from Bernhard Lederer, the 'Gagarin Tourbillion,' is designed through the inspiration of legendary astronaut Yuri Gagarin. With only 50 available, this limited edition watch is not only a beautiful celebration of history, but it's also a collectors piece.
On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space. This piece celebrates and emulates his historic orbiting of the earth. Done entirely in-house, the quality of the watch is truly of the highest caliber. The elevated tourbillion orbits anticlockwise cyclically around the the dial to emulate the eastern direction of the original flight.
The dial of the 'Gagarin Tourbillion' is hand-engraved in solid gold and sits on top of a 2D image of earth. The addition of the magnifying glass is an elegant touch that heightens the feeling of looking through the window of Gagarin's own spacecraft.
