Frame by Ola Giertz, an industrial designer based in Helsingborg, Sweden, is a playfully modern seat. It takes on a rectangular shape that is hollow so that when a person sits in it, it looks as though they are being surrounded by a large scale contemporary picture frame. The designer writes, "The user becomes the object in the furniture." Its unusual form also allows people to sit on it in a variety of ways.
Created for Swedish manufacturer Materia, Frame by Ola Giertz is made out of a molded wooden frame, which is covered with foam and fabric. These materials act as a sound absorber, creating a peaceful and quiet easy chair that is great for single and family homes. It can even be placed with other Frame chairs for a deeper aesthetic.
