Toronto Installs Four Pavilions for Winter Stations

Four pavilions are currently installed around the city of Toronto as part of the coronavirus-delayed annual Winter Stations event. Due to lockdown restrictions, the annual project, which usually takes place at Woodbine Beach on Lake Ontario, was pushed until restrictions lifted.
The featured winning designs focus on the theme of Refuge. Among them is the Epitonium sculpture shaped like a seashell designed by an Iranian team. The artists show how nature creates its own refuges from the elements. The ARc de Blob is another featured piece that includes an augmented reality app and a colorful exterior. From Small Beginnings features shelves and a bench, providing a place for visitors to take shelter. Finally, the Throbber is a circle of colorful, socially distanced seats.
