The Fonderie 47 Inversion Principle is a watch, made by Swiss watchmaker Fonderie 47, that is made in part from steel from an AK-47 assault rifle. The watch even has subtle design cues borrowed from the firearm. A portion of revenue from watch sales is to be directed towards disarming efforts in Africa.
The watch's most unique point -- other than the fact that it contains AK-47 parts -- is the fact that it does not have conventional watch hands. Its second hand moves only once every three seconds, so each minute is marked by only a third of the glass dial. As each hand records a minute, it passes out of sight and is replaced by the next arm at the start of the dial.
The Fonderie 47 Inversion Principle watch is available in a highly limited edition run of 20 pieces, and costs a cool $195,000.
