LEGO Icons unveils a look at its latest work in the form of the Flying Machine set by Leonardo da Vinci. It is a historic piece of design honoring Renaissance creativity at its finest. The set is detailed and set to officially launch to the public on January 1st.
It is modeled after the artist's ornithopter, which was a bird-like contraption that he had created to further explore human-powered flight. The set features 493 pieces and it comes with wings covered in textiles that can be flapped. There is also a tail mechanism-driven by a range of strings, hinges, and a pulley system, which is a reflection of the original sketches made by da Vinci.
